Boost Leadership and Soft Skills, Unesa English Literature Students Hold 'ALIGN' Upgrading in Tawangmangu
To strengthen internal synergy and prepare future leaders, the English Literature Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris / HMP Solite) at the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held an intensive quality upgrading program. Under the theme "Alliance for Learning, Integration & Growth Through Networking" (ALIGN), the event took place from Sunday to Monday, June 14โ15, 2026, at Villa Sekala, Tawangmangu, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The two-day program involved all internal functionaries of HMP Sastra Inggris, who took part as both committee members and participants.
โAs the first work program initiated by the Public Relations Department (HUMAS) for this term, ALIGN was driven by a strong commitment to build deeper bonding within the organization. Beyond strengthening internal relations, the program aimed to hone crucial soft skills needed in the professional world, such as leadership, time management, personal branding, and public speaking. This initiative also directly reflects a commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which focuses on Quality Education. By equipping student governors with these essential life skills, the program serves as a practical learning platform to prepare young people with the right tools for future employment and leadership roles.
โThe execution of the ALIGN program went through a thorough, well-planned process. The Public Relations Department worked closely and consulted regularly with the Executive Board (BPH HMP) and faculty advisors from the very beginning. The timeline started with conceptual brainstorming and setting up the committee, followed by mapping out the training materials and inviting speakers. After finalizing the concept, the team moved on to proposal submission, logistical preparations, and progress monitoring, leading up to the main event. The program wrapped up with a comprehensive evaluation session to ensure feedback is well-received and the positive impact remains sustainable for the organization's future.
